The Smallness of the World

I'm in Mississauga staying with family until I move into my new place early next week. My Mom and I had some free time to kill yesterday afternoon so we wandered over to Square One Mall to do some window shopping and pick up a few things for my room. We wandered into a clothing store I'd been in about six months ago and just as I was telling my Mom about the clothes I'd previously tried on there, I heard someone yell my name. I looked up and to the right and there was Tracey, a girl I've known since grade three and who I haven't seen since Safe Grad night, almost 11 years ago. Wow! She's been here for six years and is just one of the growing numbers of Maritimers and people I knew in a former life that now make Tdot their home. We caught up, exchanged numbers and I definitely plan on calling her. That's the amazing thing about being in this city. If we ran into each other at the Halifax Shopping Centre we'd probably smile and acknowledge each other but that would be it. Here, in the big bad scary city, we embrace each other and our mutual Maritime history despite not running with the same crowds in school. I love that. I'm looking forward to future run-ins with long lost playground pals!

Happy Paddy's Day!

I've been packing, repacking, organising, shredding, washing, cleaning and getting seriously tired and anxious about this move to Toronto. I'm ready to go right now but still have to wait a few days before we hit the road. I wish I had something more interesting to write about but besides getting things in order and my new obsession with Facebook taking up my time, nothing too exciting has happened. Oh, Happy Pre-Paddy's Day though. Last year in Dublin was frigging freezing and was a less than enjoyable weekend. I arrived at the parade just as it finished and wandered around looking for a pub to hop into, only to head to the ceildih, then pop home for a hot bath to melt the icicles! I've got my green t-shirt, shot glass on a rope to wear and am off to pick up some cans of Guinness!

Cha Ching

America I'm trying to absorb as many savings as I possibly can before I head up North where the weather is frosty and so are the deals. I love my new spring trench coat, although it'll probably be July before I can wear it. How pretty. I love the colour, it's what drew me to it, that and incredibly low price. I'm normally a black coat kinda gal, but oh when the sales are happenin' at the old local shop, you'll find me experimenting and splashing out. Carpe diem people!

That's What She Said

Because both my Mom and I are obsessed with The Office, on our cross country trek back to Toronto, we've decided to spend the night in Scranton, PA. We'll be taking photos around town, having supper at the local Chilli's and just soaking in all the ambiance the Electric City has to offer. How sad. Oh yeah, and I have an uber crush on Jim. RIP

I would love to say that I found www.quizgalaxy.com on my own, but I actually stumbled onto it by way of someone else's blog. God, this is too funny. You can find out what your obituary will say, what you'll die of (apparently I'll die of the plague), what your epitaph will say and other really useful time-wasting quizes. Hilarious. I love lewd behaviour.

Spice World

My new favourite website of all time is http://www.dvbstyle.com/ which stands for David and Victoria Beckham Style. It's full of videos, a blog, photos and everything you need to know about Posh and Becks. Man, I know it sounds lame but I love these two. They're just so OTT and everywhere! I imagine a day with Posh is full of decadence but also extreme British sarcasm. Honestly, how fabulous must their lives be?
