I'm not sure exactly why I've been thinking about Japan recently. It seems like I lived there so long ago, but I clearly remember while being there that I felt like I'd been there for years instead of months and that I thought I'd never get out. I truly wish my time there had been different. As much as the culture and I didn't exactly mesh, there were things I found amusing, even interesting. Brian and I went to the Osaka Aquarium, or Kayukan, on February 14, 2005. It was full of couples. Typically we were arguing and I went home alone. Good times. The aquarium was very peaceful though. It was full of couples kissing, holding hands and whispering to each other, but all I could do was imagine how peaceful it must be to just float around like one of the fish in this picture. Sure, they're not out in the ocean, frolicking with other species. But they do get to sit in tanks and taunt the Japanese that they
can't eat them. Fish are funny.

Remember we talked about everyone there, if watching the fish made them hungry or not? And how maybe they all wanted menus, or to jump inside the aquariums and scarf down the helpless squid inside. They would eat anything in there. Even the jellyfish.
If I were Japanese, every aquarium would seem like a live menu. Ooishi!
