The Electric City
I love The Office. I never miss an episode, have the first two seasons on DVD and the calendar is hanging in my kitchen. OK, so that might be a bit too much, but when my parents offered to take me through Scranton, PA on our way to Toronto last March, there was no way I was going to pass up that opportunity. The photo of the Scranton sign isn't the best since it was taken from a moving van but it's the one seen during the credits of the show. I made my Dad drive around town so I could take photos of show references, like the Steamtown Mall which we wandered through looking for Office souvenirs. Side note-there are no souvenirs and don't expect a warm response from the locals when you bring up the show. I went into a shop and asked the staff, who were around my age, if there was any place I could buy something with Scranton written on it. His sarcastic response was "What, you means like The Office?" (said with a sneer). He was no help, but I did manage to pick up a University of Scranton t-shirt in a sports store. Jerk.
