Sickie

Elliott is sick. He has kennel cough. I panicked at the park this morning when he was doing some kind of snuffling/coughing/sneezing thing. I picked him up and ran to the nearest person with a dog asking where the local vet was. We were fortunate enough to get an appointment right away and although he's a healthy 14 pounds and in good shape, he does have kennel cough. I seriously don't know how people have babies. I was a wreck. He's just so little and I want him to be healthy and happy, I would have paid anything to make him feel better. Fortunately it only cost $64 to do that.

Meags...I would think the Humane Society should have footed that bill...they should give you a healthy pet when you leave..He should have been ready for adoption with all his shots, etc...

He was healthy when I got him, but I guess kennel cough is something that can appear days later. He has his rabies shots and everything else. I do have insurance for him for the next six weeks which I registered for yesterday so I'm going to follow up with that.

If he is coughing alot warm honey relieves it, not too much though and it can take upto two weeks for kennel cough to show so they prob didn't know he had it. Hope that helps.
